Bon Voyage!

I just wanted to say thank you to you all for leaving such lovely comments! It makes me smile when I read them! I am going away for two weeks so I just thought I would leave a note saying farewell to you all. Research trip here I come! I will let you all know all about it upon my return in two weeks' time. I am listening to a recording a friend made for me. He leant out of his window in the middle of a thunderstorm and recorded it for me. Sometimes it helps me to fall asleep, the sound of the rain bouncing off the sodden earth. The rolls of thunder somehow make me feel happy and at peace. It is such an amazing thing, thunder, following shortly after the brilliant flash that illuminates the entire sky, so intensely that you can see the face of the person you are with. It draws you closer together, witnesses to a beautiful yet destructive entity.

I wonder what whales make of thunder. Surely the sound of electrons reacting together travels through the depths of the ocean? I wonder if they, like me, are drawn to the waves of noise? If the humpback whales sing back to the sky?

A 28 foot juvenile humpback whale was found dead in the Thames river today.It makes me sad. Humpbacks are found in the European Atlantic, but the poor soul was so far from home, it did not have much chance of survival. It would have probably starved and most certainly become severely dehydrated. I wonder if Naval sonar was the cause, or maybe disease? Both of which may cause the whale to become disorientated. I'm sure I will get the report sent to me at some point. This is why I strive to become a marine mammal scientist, so I can help work towards reducing these occurences, particularly if the causes are anthropogenic.

I wonder what whales and dolphins I will see on my cetacean research trip. I leave for Scotland on Sunday, I cannot wait!

Magic white rabbits

Some little rabbits hopped into my room the other day. I think they like it here, and are moving in. They have tiny outfits, and tiny pink noses. They have befriended a little baby mouse named Edward, who has travelled everywhere with me. Soon I shall magic them a house called Applewood Cottage, with a blue-green roof and a white front door. I have also bought them some furniture, a magical house for magical furry white rabbits. I would like to get them a tea set, so that they might join in with the tea parties I share with the ghosts and faeries in my room.

Sad Face

I am feeling a little sad today. I wish to snuggle up with my prince but he is faraway. I wish to whisper until the early hours with my best friend but she is even further away in Australia until January. While I am here awaiting the return of both. At least I have Jake and Pixie to snuggle up to. It's just one of those days. Sigh! I shall have some tea and slip into dreamland. Tomorrow is another and hopefully brighter day. Goodnight everyone

An Introduction

♥ I thought it was about time to take a picture of my dear little Pixiedust, peering out of a teacup. She is rather shy but she is very pleased to meet you all. Her favourite things are strawberry drops and roaming the house in her ball. She is the eighth hamster I have had from the age of six. The picture is a bit blurry. ♥





♥ I tried out some of the shadows from my palette. The colours I used here are carbon for the outer corner, nylon for the highlight and inner corner and Deep Truth for the lid colour. ♥

A Little Luxury pour moi...♥

I recieved my MAC palette today.





The colours are (from left to right):~

I have been saving for ages for a palette. The pigments are so vibrant and the shades are stunning. I can't wait to try Deep truth, a sparkly dark blue. The colours I chose are very autumnal. I also bought a pigment called Melon, but my camera passed out before I could take a picture.





Jake got a new wooden tunnel to play with.




He can hide from the birds in there. He doesn't like birds much.

Sleep Tight....

I found another picture of Tess, how she looks now that she is all grown up. There is also a picture of some toadstools I took whislt on a midnight walk in the woods, and one of me in a top hat and gloves being silly. The picture is slightly blurred, but I like it anyway. I do take some random pictures. I was going to go to bed, but have become distracted by the computer. I saw a barn owl sitting in the cherry tree on our front lawn. The nights are definately getting colder; I love it as it means i can layer up and use my hot water bottle and throw and sleep cosily whilst jack frost dances on the leaves outside, with the owl watching over him. I had a book once about a little squirrel and Jack Frost. I shall have to dig it out again as it reminds me so much of my childhood. That and another book where three little pixies help the faeries to paint the flowers using colours from the rainbow, drink the rainbow colours but become sick with multicoloured spots and tummy aches.

I haven't been on here for a few days. I've just been looking through some old photos. This one is a picture of my baby Tess when she was a puppy (And my brother's hand). She has such a sweet face, she still does! I will get some up to date pictures of her on here soon, as well as Jake and Pixie. I am feeling so tired tonight, even the warm cup of tea is making me feel dreamy. I have ordered a MAC palette with some shadows and a pigment, I can't wait for them to arrive. I will show you guys when they get here. Sleep Well everyone
